About Hopgood's Restaurant

Hopgood's offers modern, seasonally based dishes in a relaxing and casual environment.

The kitchen uses locally sourced ingredients when ever possible to make the most of the great produce Nelson has to offer.

The wine list show cases Nelson wines whilst offering a select range of other wines from around New Zealand and the world. The list also offers wines from local, award winning vineyard, Neudorf's 'Moutere' range.

The restaurant is located in a heritage building with outside dining offering views of the cathedral when weather permits.

The menu is kept deliberately short and changes regularly, allowing the Kitchen to work around the daily arrival of local produce. This is especially relevent to our organic vegetable supplies from local farmer Brent Ferretti, who hand harvests and delivers his beautiful fruit and vegetables daily.

The menu is written and developed by Aaron Ballantyne and Kevin Hopgood.

We are lucky in Nelson to have so many small scale, high qualitiy producers of food and wine on our door step. Many of our suppliers can be found at the friday night farmers market at Founders Park and the saturday morning market in the center of Nelson.
